Metro Manila’s notorious traffic jams sap the fun out of any visit to the frenetic capital, where navigating around vehicle-choked streets to your hotel can take far longer than your flight. Do not fret, there’s a snazzy new place to stay that will take you from touch down to plopping onto your private well-appointed suite in a flash! Fly in and out of NAIA with style and ease when you stay at Savoy Hotel Manila, a brand-new accommodation with modern, streamlined interiors located right next to NAIA Terminal 3 and the entertainment complex of Resorts World Manila and Newport Mall.
Savoy Hotel Manila has 684 suites with floor area of 20 to 50 sqm, providing all the space you need to work and relax during your stay in Manila. Contemporary and understated in design with a splash of color from brightly colored artworks and bedcovers, the rooms have all the standard hotel amenities – plus a silk robe for that luxe feel. I especially loved the large windows overlooking the airport runway and nearby expressways with the Makati skyline in the horizon. What I didn’t like: the sharp corners of the bathroom counters which isn’t kid-friendly.
The hotel’s atrium is where the “health and wellness hub” is located; it has an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa. The toilet and shower rooms have lockers with digital locks, and sauna and steam rooms. For the convenience of those traveling for work, there’s a business lounge and function halls.
The rooms are modern and streamlined with a splash of color
Guests may book their rooms with buffet breakfast at Savoy Cafe, the ground-level hotel restaurant with an international menu that’s open for 24 hours, which is perfect for those taking red-eye flights! Two cocktail bars – one by the pool and another at lobby – caters to those who need a drink or two… or more.
There are also places to eat out at the Newport Mall behind the hotel (which I hope would soon provide better access when they open the back entrance) like McDonald’s and S&R New York Style Pizza, as well as proper sit-down restaurants like Boulangerie 22 and Giligan’s. Need something from a convenience store? Hello, 7-Eleven and Lawson.
How to Get There
There are complimentary airport Resorts World Manila transfers between Terminals 1, 2 & 3 of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Shuttles will leave from the terminals every hour on the hour. Savoy Hotel Manila will be the first drop off point from the airport. Take note of the locations of the RWM Kiosks/Lounge: Terminal 1 – RWM Airport Lounge after the arrival hall; Terminal 2 – RWM Kiosk located at Bay 15 (Outer-lane); and Terminal 3 – RWM Kiosk located at Bay 13 (Inner-lane). Airport-bound shuttles leave from Savoy Hotel Manila hourly, every 20th minute.
Savoy Hotel Manila is located right across Terminal 3. One can easily reach the hotel on foot from Terminal 3, walking from the arrival bays across the parking lot and traversing Andrews Avenue along the pedestrian crossing underneath the NAIA Expressway.
If coming from elsewhere in the metropolis, take a premium point-to-point Ube Express bus from selected departure points to NAIA 3. There’s also a cheaper Airport Loop Bus running between NAIA 3 and Genesis Bus Terminal, near MRT Taft Station.
