Terima Kasih, Airphil Express and Tourism Malaysia! Photo by Antonio Carranza |
In conjunction with Airphil Express’ inaugural flight to Kuala Lumpur, the Philippines’ fastest growing budget airline specially invited seven Filipino travel bloggers, including myself, on an all-expense paid trip for three days – from June 21 to 24 – to the Malaysian capital, which is the airlines’ third international route. This trip was made possible, in cooperation with Tourism Malaysia. I was really looking forward to this trip because it was my first time to be invited to a bloggers tour – and an international one at that!
What was really exciting was that there was no fixed itinerary for . As part of the Airphil Express Kuala Lumpur Blogger Adventure Contest, each participant was challenged to define which travel experiences to create in Malaysia, given the pocket money provided for. After the press conference for the maiden flight and the special tour of the Asia-Pacific assistance center of Travel Guard Chartis – the travel insurance provider of the airline, we were free to explore Malaysia on our own. We were also encouraged to share our experiences while traveling with our readers to showcase Airphil Express as the newest Philippine carrier flying to Kuala Lumpur; and to promote Malaysia as a fun, exciting and budget-friendly destination. While traveling, every blogger must have as many documented experiences and discoveries as possible in Kuala Lumpur and beyond.
