Hydraulic Dry Bag 35L w HarnessWhat I Think

I’m always out and about in the elements when I cover adventure travel stories. So while scuba diving in Anilao, “shooting the rapids” in Pagsanjan Falls or kayaking in Sipalay, I trusted no other than my new travel partner, the Perth-based travel gear brand Sea to Summit, to keep my valuables safe and dry.

I loved using this dry bag for three practical reasons. First, it’s really durable. Laminated with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), the heavy duty enclosure made of PVC-free UV resistant fabric is waterproof and resistant to extreme temperatures. It comes in bright colors like blue, lime and yellow. Besides the fact that it looks great, this made it the bag highly visible in case of emergencies or accidents.

Secondly, it was big enough for all the things I need. The 35-liter bag – the only size available in the Philippine market, at the moment – was large and sturdy enough to carry two camera sling bags, or my snorkeling mask and fins. The dry bag effortlessly protected my equipment from wind and water.

Lastly (and most importantly), it’s portable. Unlike standard dry bags, this one comes with an innovative removable harness system that makes carrying it around a whole lot easier than a standard dry bag, whether you’re packing it into the car trunk, boarding a bangka or rushing to the airport. When needed, the harness can be removed from the dry bag, thanks to clip-on anodized aluminum buckles. What I did not like, however, was how these buckles would detach on their own on some occasions when I laid the bag down on the floor.

But, overall, I’m really delighted by the Sea to Summit 35L Hydraulic Dry Pack because it has outperformed any of the dry bags I’ve used in the past in terms of robust construction and convenient portability. I’ve been bringing it along with me on my travels ever since!
