The newest luxury resort in Bohol is also the biggest. Aiming to bring the hotel brand nationwide, the Henann Group of Resorts has opened Henann Resort Alona Beach on Panglao Island – its first property outside Boracay. The resort will have its grand opening in August 2015. While enjoying the festivities of the Sandugo Festival 2015, courtesy of AirAsia and Bohol Provincial Tourism Office, our group enjoyed a three-night stay at the brand-new accommodation, which is currently in its soft opening period.
Currently, there are 230 rooms available – all furnished with the signature Henann look of coastal-inspired contemporary interiors in turquoise and pale yellows that exude the serenity of the beach and ocean. Once completed, the resort will have around 400 rooms of various types ranging from deluxe, premier and suites to family, premier with direct pool access, presidential suites and beachfront villas. All rooms feature individually-controlled air-conditioning, twice-daily housekeeping service, cable TV, in-room dining service, personal refrigerator and coffee/tea making facility with complimentary coffee and tea, among others. I stayed at a third-floor Premier Room, which had a nice balcony overlooking the main swimming pool. Of course, the room had all the trappings of a luxury resort room – except for a minibar.
Given the scale of the development, I do hope that Henann Resort seriously considers implementing eco-friendly practices as this disappointingly doesn’t seem to be a current priority at all by the management, which sees environmental sustainability as a niche offering rather than a mandatory way of how resorts should be operated, especially in destinations like Bohol geared towards eco-tourism.
The 6.5-hectare resort complex boasts of the largest convention center, longest beachfront along Alona Beach and three massive state-of-the-art swimming pools with sunken bars. Driving into the resort complex, you won’t miss the Convention Center across the main building. As the largest convention center in Panglao, the three-level facility has an area of 2,160 square meters and can house more than 1,000 guests, thereby catering to business and celebratory functions of any size.
Rates start at PHP 8,400 for overnight room accommodation in a Superior Room for two adults, inclusive of buffet breakfast for two persons and complimentary access to the gym and fitness center (16 years old and above). Find the best room rates here!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are served at the second-floor dining hall in the main building, while ala carte dishes may be ordered at the Clubhouse near the beachfront swimming pools. They had great buffets that offered Asian and Western fare, including indulgent dishes like Peking duck for dinner! Walk-in guests are welcome to enjoy the food at the restaurant and clubhouse.

I haven’t gone back to Bohol in 5 years and now there’s this. Your photos look very nice! Might include this place in next year’s plans. 🙂
Thank you very much! Hope you get to explore Bohol soon =)
