67th Heaven Holiday Resort: The Finest Beach Retreat in Northeast Puerto Princesa

67th Heaven Holiday ResortAfter the festivities of the Puerto Princesa Underground River Day, the Puerto Princesa Tourism Office took me and the other bloggers who remained after the media tour to the less-visited northeast coast of Puerto Princesa, along Honda Bay. Named after the kilometer marker where it is situated, 67th Heaven Holiday Resort is one of the more prominent beach resorts that sparsely dot this desert shoreline. A cluster of native-style bungalows, rattan hammocks and, curiously, a Swedish-style sauna make up the resort grounds, fronting the finest stretch of sand on this side of Puerto Princesa.  The east-facing resort affords guests with beautiful sunrises from the beach. I spent mornings at the resort watching the sun rise over the broad sand flats. Among the resorts we visited along the northeast coast of Puerto Princesa, 67th Heaven Holiday Resort was blessed with the finest quality of sand which stretched broadly for a few kilometers. 67th Heaven Holiday Resort

Amenities

An open-air meeting area with free wif offers an ideal spot for planning sessions and get-togethers. There’s also a traditional wood-fired Swedish-style sauna, but I wonder how many guests are in the mood to use this when vacationing at the beach resort. The owners are planning to build a swimming pool.

Room Rates

The resort’s native-style A/C bungalows start at PHP 3,000 with breakfast for two. For budget travelers, there’s dorm-style accommodation for PHP 500 per head. Find discounted room rates here! Chicken Cashew Curry - 67th Heaven Holiday Resort

Meals

Another awesome thing about the resort is the home-cooked food! While expensive at PHP 300 to 500 for conservative servings good for two persons, their well-prepared dishes are guaranteed to be flavorful and mouthwatering. According to the owners, some of their patrons drive all the way from Puerto Princesa to enjoy their food. Among the fantastic dishes we tried were their signature chicken swedish curry (PHP 350), chicken cashew (PHP 300), chili crab (PHP 400 to 500) and pork sinigang or tamarind soup (PHP 350).
