Leveling up its guest experience, Amorita Resort introduces Tomar Tapas x Bar, a wine and tapas bar, located above the resort’s poolside restaurant, Saffron. The award-winning luxury boutique resort at the southeastern end of Bohol’s famed Alona Beach is the flagship property of One-Of Collection. Located right above the restaurant, the bar (which takes its name from the Spanish for “to take”) was only opened last April, completing the second phase of its expansion.
The launching of AirAsia’s latest inflight merchandise was held here, so we got to enjoy a generous tasting of their culinary offerings that included paellas, tapas and pintxos (small snacks). Veering away from the usual Chinese and Japanese resort restaurants, the resort owners decided to introduce a Spanish tapas bar inspired by their food tours in Spain. The tapas and wine bar adds a sense of festivity to the resort with Spanish cuisine – paired with carefully curated wine and whiskey from across the globe. The ingredients are sourced locally, such as the freshest fish, scallops, shrimps, octopus and other seafood reaped from the rich waters surrounding the island. I savored every tasty morsel of their bite-sized finger food. Their paella negra and paella valenciana were particularly memorable with their rich, spicy flavors and generous toppings of prawn and green mussels.
Complementing the flavorsome dishes, the interior’s earth tones and understated design – a sexy medley of wood, steel and leather – exuded warm sophistication, providing a dining venue that’s sure to satisfy the most discerning guests. With large windows overlooking the pool area, Tomar is an ideal spot to relax from late afternoon to evening, watching the skies turn crimson above the tree line at dusk as you sip sangria and nibble on grilled octopus. On your next visit to Amorita Resort, don’t forget to drop by this cozy nook. It’s a whole new reason to fall in love with this tropical enclave.
