Endless Summer Hotel: Midtown Boutique Stay with 360-Degree Rooftop Views of Baler, Aurora

They say home is where the heart is. Then I might as well declare that I left my heart in this unassuming accommodation in Baler, Aurora. While our two-night stay was brief, I quickly fell for the small-town charm of Endless Summer Hotel, which, contrary to its name, feels more like a family-run guesthouse or homestay than a run-of-the-mill hotel. I immediately felt right at home upon arriving, our check-in smoothly administered by the friendly and efficient receptionists at their 24-hour front desk.

Located at the heart of Baler, the three-story property is just a short walk away from the town’s top heritage sites: Baler Church, Aurora Quezon Ancestral House and Museo de Baler. Sabang Beach, Baler’s most popular surf spot, is only 10 minutes on foot from the hotel.

For excursions to farther tourist attractions, the hotel offers affordable van rentals. An eight-hour day tour with driver/guide is only PHP 2,500 for up to 12 persons. Visit my blog post listing 12 Awesome Things to Do in Baler and Around to learn what else you can see and do in the area.

Amenities

The modest hotel has only 13 rooms with a straightforward layout and design. Surf-inspired decor add some color to the interior. Facade-side rooms have private balconies overlooking the street. Each floor has a common lounge area furnished with wooden hand-carved sala sets one typically finds in Filipino homes.

The best thing about the hotel is the rooftop area, which as open-air view deck and a trellis-covered swimming pool with 360-degree views of the town and, in the distance, the Sierra Madre mountain range and the Pacific Ocean. Surfing murals add color the environment. Its the perfect spot to have breakfast every morning!

Hotel staff can arrange room-service massage for PHP 400.

Meals

Breakfast, lunch and dinner may be specially prepared by the in-house chef. Not to be missed for breakfast is the longanisa (pork sausage), which was, hands down, the most delicious I’ve tasted by far in all my travels, trumping my former favorites from Vigan and Kalibo. They were amazing – so plump and garlicky – I just had to bring back some to Cebu! You can order them in advance to take home; a 500 gram pack of eight pieces costs PHP 150. Other options for breakfast include tocino (cured pork), daing (dried rabbitfish), tuyo (dried fish) and pancake.

Room Rates

Accommodation at Endless Summer Hotel starts at PHP 2,000 for a Standard or Superior Room for two persons, inclusive of breakfast. Find discounted room rates here!

How to Get There
