Poblacion – the historic center of Makati City – has become one of the trendiest neighborhoods in Metro Manila. Over the last decade, the side streets around P. Burgos Street and Kalayaan Avenue (which used to only attract foreign clientele with their girlie bars) have become hip and happening spots dotted with hole-in-the-wall restaurants, bars and cafes. Aside from the food and nightlife scene, there are also a few heritage sites you can visit here like the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Church (est. 1620) and the Museo ng Makati (Makati Museum) housed in the former town hall, built in 1918.
Beyond Makati City, Hop Inn Makati Avenue is an ideal home base to explore the rest of Metro Manila. Crossing the Mandaluyong-Makati Bridge, just north of the hotel, will take you to Mandaluyong City across the Pasig River. To get to the city of Manila, the Guadalupe-Leon Guinto jeepney along J.P Rizal St. will take you to Quirino LRT Station cheaply.
To reach the metro stations, you can walk to the intersection of Makati and Sen. Gil Puyat (aka Buendia) Avenues (700 m away), and hop on a jeepney to Buendia MRT Station or Gil Puyat LRT Station, which connects you to the rest of the metropolitan area.

The look and feel of the Hop Inn brand is consistent across their hotels in Thailand and the Philippines. The 10-storey Hop Inn Makati Avenue has 144 basic rooms that comes in only two types: Standard Double Room and Standard Twin Room. Both room types have a floor area of 16 sqm.
All the rooms are minimalist with accents of primary colors. They feature comfortable beds with luggage storage space underneath, complimentary bottled water, bath towels, LED TV with cable channels, and a safety deposit box. The en suite toilet and shower has a hair and body wash dispenser, but amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste are not provided. The rooms are also equipped with free WiFi, which was very fast and stable!
There are no phones to reach the reception; instead, a QR code is provided to access the reception’s Viber number, if you need to communicate with them from your room.
The spacious lobby is at the ground floor with a simple reception counter and Hop Inn merchandise like mugs, neck pillows and travel kits on display. Unlike the illustrated city map at the lobby of Hop Inn Cebu City, the lobby map here serves an aesthetic rather than functional purpose as it is unlabeled. Parking space is available within the building.
Dining Options
Accommodation at Hop Inn Makati Avenue isn’t inclusive of any breakfast, and there are no dining outlets within the hotel. However, there are several restaurants and cafes along Makati Avenue just a short walk from the hotel, like Yellow Cab Pizza, Wendy’s and North Park Noodles.
There are several hidden cafes, restobars, and eateries along the side streets around Kalayaan Avenue. If you want posher places to eat, there are also two upscale shopping malls nearby with several dining outlets: Century City Mall (500 m away) and Power Plant Mall (800 m away).

How to Get There
Hop Inn Hotel Makati Avenue Manila is 11 km away from Ninoy Aquino International Airport. The most convenient way to get to your hotel from any of the airport terminals would be GrabCar or GrabTaxi (Beware of taxi scammers who overcharge at Manila’s airport. Always ask for metered fare before gettin in a regular taxi). Leaving the hotel, there are also a lot of regular taxis you can hail along Makati Avenue day or night.
